To make aviation and aerospace accessible to the public, the Aviation Museum of N.H. hosts lectures and programs under its ‘Exploring Aviation’ series. The schedule calls for 10 events each year.
Program topics in 2023 included lighter-than-air transport in 19th century New England; pilots who volunteer to relocate endangered or injured animals; abandoned airports of the Granite State; a 50th anniversary commemoration of Delta Flight 723, which flew out of Manchester and tragically crashed at Boston’s Logan Airport; and several author book-signing appearances.
For 2024, we’re putting together a schedule that will include programs on a pilot who was part of the crew on Lindbergh’s final flight to Hawaii prior to his 1974 death; a screening of ‘The Flying Ace’ (1926), a vintage aviation-related silent film with live music for Black History Month; a group of pilots who donate their time and aircraft to rescue sea turtles; a hike to a well-known crash site in the White Mountains, and more.
